What F0E1 means
F0E1 appears when the Clean Washer cycle is started while the machine senses a load inside. On a Whirlpool all-in-one washer-dryer such as the WFC8090GX, it means items are still in the drum when the cleaning cycle begins. On Whirlpool front-load washers, the Duet and WFW family including the WFW5620HW, WFW9150WW and WFW90HEFW, the same code may read as F0 E1 or rL. Either way the cleaning cycle will not run until the drum is empty.
Common causes of F0E1
- Clothing, a towel or a stray sock left in the drum
- Clean Washer started with a load inside
- A load sensing input reading a load that is not there, which we check last
1. Open the door and take out everything in the drum, including small items in the door fold. 2. Close the door. 3. Restart the Clean Washer cycle with the cleaning tablet or cleaner your washer calls for. 4. Run laundry afterward only when the cleaning cycle has finished.
- If the drum is empty and F0E1 stays, the load sensing needs to be tested.
- We check the door gasket and drum for small hidden items before we look at controls.
- You hear the price in writing before any work starts.
Other Washer codes
Why do I see F0E1 when I run Clean Washer?
The washer senses a load in the drum and will not start a cleaning cycle with clothes inside. Empty the drum completely and start it again.
Could a sock in the door seal cause it?
Yes. Items can hide in the folds of the door gasket, so run your hand around it and look at the back of the drum before restarting.
Does F0E1 appear on a normal wash?
No, it is tied to the Clean Washer cycle. If it shows on a normal wash, the washer is reading a load it should not, and we should look at it.
Still unsure about F0E1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
