What F2E2 means

F2E2 is displayed on two Whirlpool washer platforms. On the washer section of a laundry tower or stacked laundry center it lists a communication problem as the potential cause, meaning parts of the control are not exchanging signals correctly. On top-load HE washers, the Cabrio and WTW family such as the WTW8500DC, an older platform still in many homes, it gives only a power-reset instruction. Both call for a 5-minute reset.
