What No Water Detected means
The message No Water Detected on a Whirlpool front-load washer from the Duet and WFW family means the same thing as F8 E1 and Lo FL: the washer does not sense the right amount of incoming water. The door may be locked, and the control may not respond to keys. Pressing Power starts a drain routine of about 8 to 10 minutes with the pump running continuously, during which no input is accepted. Models like the WFW90HEFW display it this way.
Common causes of No Water Detected
- Water faucets not fully open
- Inlet hoses kinked, off or on the wrong inlets
- Debris in the inlet screens limiting the flow
- Fill valve or water level circuit
1. Press Power once and give the washer a full 10 minutes to finish its drain routine. 2. Open both the hot and cold faucets all the way. 3. Straighten any bent hose and confirm hot goes to hot and cold to cold. 4. Start a short cycle. If the message returns, schedule service.
- If water reaches the washer freely and the message still shows, the fill valve or the sensing circuit has to be tested.
- We measure what actually arrives at the hoses before we suggest any part.
- The price comes in writing first, and finished work has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Other Washer codes
Does the message mean there is no water in my house?
Not usually. It means the washer did not see the expected amount arrive in the time allowed. Closed or partly closed faucets, a kinked hose or clogged screens are the usual reasons.
Why can't I press any buttons?
The washer is running its drain routine, which takes about 8 to 10 minutes. The pump runs the whole time and the keys are ignored. Wait the full ten minutes before trying again.
How is this different from FH?
FH says the supply itself is absent or short. This message says the amount sensed was wrong. We check the same faucets, hoses and screens for both, but they come from different readings.
