What F0E7 means

F0E7 means clothing was detected while the Clean Washer cycle was trying to run. It is the same message on Whirlpool front-load Duet and WFW washers such as the WFW9150WW, on top-load HE washers such as the WTW7500GC, and on stacked laundry tower washers. The cleaning cycle needs an empty drum, so the washer stops and shows F0E7 until the load is removed. If it shows again after that, the washer should be looked at.

Common causes of F0E7

  • Clothes or a single sock left in the drum when Clean Washer was selected
  • A Clean Washer cycle chosen by mistake instead of a wash cycle
  • Load sensing that reads a load that is not there, which we test last
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Open the lid or door and take out all clothing. 2. Check the door gasket folds or the basket rim for a small item. 3. Restart the Clean Washer cycle with the washer empty. 4. If F0E7 persists with an empty drum, stop and schedule service.

! Why to stop there
  • If the drum is empty and F0E7 stays, the load sensing needs testing.
  • We check the basket and tub for items before looking at controls.
  • The price is in writing first.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
F0E7F0E7 questions
Did I choose the wrong cycle?

Possibly. F0E7 shows when Clean Washer is selected and the washer finds a load inside. Make sure the drum is empty, or pick a normal wash cycle if you meant to wash clothes.

How do I know the drum is really empty?

Look around the door seal on a front-loader, and under the agitator or around the basket rim on a top-loader. Small items often hide there.

Does F0E7 mean the sensor is broken?

Not usually. It means a load was found. If it appears with a truly empty washer, we test the sensing and quote before any repair.
