What F01 means
F01 appears on Whirlpool freestanding and slide-in ranges (the WFE515S0ES and WFG525S0HV among them) and also on built-in wall ovens such as the WOS51EC0HS, WOD51EC0HS and WOC54EC7HS. On both, the guidance is a power reset, with the oven temperature sensor, the control and the associated wiring named as the places a problem may be. In plain words, the oven is not getting a trustworthy temperature reading or is not handling it properly, and the code stays on the display.
Common causes of F01
- Oven temperature sensor reading
- Wiring or connector to the sensor
- Control receiving the sensor signal
1. Let the oven cool and make sure it is empty. 2. Turn the breaker for the range or wall oven off for one minute. 3. Turn the breaker on. 4. Monitor the oven for one minute to see whether F01 comes back. 5. Verify normal operation with a short bake.
- A returning F01 means the reset did not remove the cause, and the sensor reading must be checked
- We test the sensor, its wiring and the control in that order and explain what we find before quoting
- Wall oven and range are tested the same way, but the access differs and we handle that
Other Range codes
Is F01 the same on a wall oven and a range?
Both are reset the same way and the guidance names the same areas. The parts are laid out differently, so a technician checks each model on site.
Can I use the cooktop on my range with F01?
The code is about the oven, so the cooktop may still work, but we cannot be sure. If the range acts oddly, switch it off at the breaker.
Will you fix an older built-in oven?
Yes. Many older Whirlpool wall ovens and ranges are still in use in Houston. We repair them and say plainly when a repair does not make sense.
Still seeing F01?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
