What Registration Error means

A Registration Error on a Whirlpool over-the-range microwave, such as WMH31017HS, WMH32519HZ or WMH53521HZ, means the connected appliance could not be registered. The usual reasons concern your network: the home network may not be connected to the internet, a firewall or other network equipment may block the appliance, or the appliance may not be connected to the home network. Your smartphone or tablet also needs internet during registration. Cooking is not affected.

No. It concerns the connected features and registration only. The microwave heats normally. Cooking, the light and the keypad are unaffected, and only the connected features wait until registration succeeds.

Why would a firewall matter?

A firewall or other network equipment can prevent the appliance from reaching the internet. If it cannot, registration cannot finish. So check that any such equipment on your network allows the appliance to reach the internet.

What if everything is connected and the error stays?

Then the Wi-Fi module in the microwave may be involved. Call us and we will test it and quote in writing. If your phone, router and network all work and the error persists, the appliance side deserves a proper test.
