What 1d11 means

On Whirlpool freestanding and slide-in ranges, gas or electric, such as the WFE515S0ES or WFG525S0HV, 1D11 steers us toward the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the wiring between them. The sensor is how the range knows how hot the oven is. If that reading looks wrong to the control, 1D11 appears, and the oven may heat poorly, stop a bake, or keep the code on the display.

Common causes of 1d11

  • The oven temperature sensor
  • The oven control board
  • Wiring and plugs between the sensor and the control
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the range's circuit breaker off for one full minute. 2. Turn it back on. 3. Check whether 1D11 reappears within a minute. 4. Run a short bake and check that the oven reaches heat. 5. If the code comes back, stop baking and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • The code gives three possible places, and a reset cannot tell us which one is behind it.
  • We read the sensor and the wiring with the range disconnected before we look at the board.
  • A written price is given first, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
1d111d11 questions
What does the oven temperature sensor do?

It tells the control how hot the oven cavity is. With a wrong or missing reading, the control cannot manage heat safely, so it posts a code and may stop the cycle.

Does 1D11 mean the sensor has failed?

Not necessarily. The control or the wiring may be involved as well. We test the sensor and its connection first, which is the least costly place to start.

Will the oven be safe to use after a reset?

If 1D11 stays away and the oven heats normally, you can carry on carefully. If it comes back, stop using the oven until we have inspected it.
