Whirlpool WGD97HEXL Gas Dryer Service and Repair
Most common issues on this model

- Flame sensor and igniter wear
- Lint blocking the blower wheel and vent
- Drum glides, rollers and idler
- Gas shutoff and connector condition
The WGD97HEXL is a gas dryer from Whirlpool, 27 inches wide. Expect to find it with endings including WGD97HEXL0, WGD97HEXL1 and WGD97HEXL2, and we match parts to the exact one on your unit.
Gas dryers of this width are a common fit for Houston houses with a utility room off the kitchen or a garage laundry area. When clothes come out hot but damp, we look at airflow before heat: the lint screen housing, the blower wheel and the exhaust duct. When they come out cool, we move to the igniter, valve and sensing parts.
We finish with a test load so you can see the dryer working. The price is agreed in writing first, parts are matched to the model and serial label, and the work is warrantied for 30 days.

The clothes are hot but still damp after a full cycle. What do you check?
Hot but damp usually means heat is made but moisture is not leaving. We inspect the lint screen housing, blower wheel and duct, because blocked airflow is more common than a burner problem in that situation.
Where on the dryer is the model number?
The model and serial label is usually on the door frame or the inside edge of the opening. We read it there and match the whole number, endings included, before ordering.
Can you repair this gas dryer in a Houston home?
Yes, we repair gas dryers of this type in Houston homes, and we confirm whether parts are available before quoting. If a repair does not make sense for the price, we tell you directly.
