WFG515S0EB
Whirlpool WFG515S0EB Gas Cooking Range Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Whether all burners relight after a power interruption
- Oven preheat time and igniter draw
- Door gasket compression
- Selector switch response on each knob
The Whirlpool WFG515S0EB is a freestanding gas range. If your label ends differently, perhaps WFG515S0EB1 or WFG515S0ED0, that is normal; those are other versions of the same base number.
Houston homes lose power during storms, and a gas range with electric ignition will not spark until power returns. That makes one of our first questions on a call like this a simple one: does the range light normally once power is back? If it does not, the cause is on the range, usually the spark module, a switch or a wet electrode. We test those before moving to the oven, where we check preheat time, igniter draw and the way the door gasket compresses.
We read the label to confirm the version before ordering anything. A price is given in writing before we start, and our repair work has a 30-day workmanship warranty behind it.

My gas range will not spark after a power outage. What now?
First check that the outlet has power and the breaker is on. If power is fine and no burner sparks, we test the spark module and switches. If only one burner fails, we start at that burner.
Why does the range not light when the power is out?
Electric ignition needs power to make a spark, so burners cannot light on their own until power returns. If you smell gas during an outage, turn the knobs off and ventilate. Once power is back we can test the spark module.
Is a door gasket repair worth doing?
Often. A gasket that no longer compresses lets heat leave the oven, so baking takes longer and uses more gas. We look at the gasket and hinges and give you a price before replacing it.
