What Demo Mode means
Demo Mode is a showroom setting built into the control of Whirlpool freestanding and slide-in ranges, including the WFE515S0ES and WFG525S0HV. It was made for the sales floor, where a range runs on a 120 V connection and the keypad can be shown off without the oven turning on. If it gets activated in a home, the oven will not heat at all, even though the display and keys respond. The way out is described in the owner's manual for your model.
Common causes of Demo Mode
- Demo setting accidentally entered from the settings or clock keys
- Keypad or user interface sending a stuck key signal
- Wiring to the keypad
- Control that needs a power restart
1. Read the owner's manual for your model and follow its steps to leave demonstration mode. 2. If you no longer have the manual, look it up by the model number on the range's rating label. 3. If needed, turn the range's breaker off for one minute and back on. 4. Watch the oven for one minute and confirm the display does not return to the demo setting. 5. Try a normal bake.
- If the oven still will not heat after leaving demo mode, the keypad or wiring may be involved and needs testing
- A stuck key can put the control back into the setting again and again, which we check on site
- We say what we find and quote the price first

Why will my oven not heat when the display looks normal?
In Demo Mode the control lets you use its features without turning the oven on. The display and keys work, but the heating is switched off on purpose.
Is Demo Mode a broken part?
No, it is a setting, not damage. It can be set by accident from the keypad. If it keeps returning, the keypad or wiring may be sending false presses.
Do I need a technician to turn it off?
Often not. Your owner's manual has the exact keys for your model. If those steps do not work or the mode comes back, we can check the keypad and control.
Still unsure about Demo Mode?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
