What Demo Mode means

Demo mode on Whirlpool over-the-range microwaves, such as models WMH31017HS, WMH32519HZ and WMH53521HZ, is a showroom setting, not an error. When it was recently turned on or off, the display briefly shows dOn or dOff. In demo mode the keypad and display act normally but the oven may not heat the way you expect. If your microwave lights up but does not heat, demo mode is one of the first things we rule out.

Common causes of Demo Mode

1. Open the door. 2. Press and hold the number 3 on the keypad for 5 seconds until the d icon lights up. 3. Press START within 5 seconds. If you do not, the microwave returns to normal idle mode. 4. When dOff shows for 5 seconds, the oven returns to normal operation. 5. Check your owner's manual for the exact steps for your model.

The display shows dOn or dOff when it was recently switched. A microwave that lights up and accepts input but does not heat may have it on.

How do I turn demo mode off?
