What Sabbath Mode means

Sabbath Mode on a Whirlpool freestanding or slide-in range, such as the WFE525S0HS or WFG515S0ES, keeps the oven on in a bake setting until you turn it off. While it is set, only Bake works and all other cooking and cleaning cycles are disabled. No tones sound, the display does not show temperature changes, and opening the door does not switch the oven light or make the elements react right away. The control may show Sabbath, Sab, 5A6 or 5Ab.

Why won't my oven beep or show the temperature?

In Sabbath Mode no tones sound and the display does not show temperature changes. The oven keeps baking until you turn it off. That is the mode working as designed rather than a failure.

Why do the light and elements not respond to the door?

Sabbath Mode holds the oven in Bake and makes the light and heating elements ignore the door and switch. They do not turn on or off immediately. Turn the mode off to get normal behavior back.
