What PUSH or PSH means

PUSH, or PSH on a shorter display, appears on a Whirlpool freestanding or slide-in range such as the WFE515S0ES or WFG525S0HV when you have chosen an oven function but have not pressed Start. The Start pad begins every oven function. If it is not pressed within 5 seconds, the prompt shows. If it is still not pressed within 1 minute of your last keypad, the function is canceled and the time of day returns. It is a reminder, not a failure.

Why does my oven say PUSH?

It is waiting for you to press Start. After you pick a function, Start must be pressed within 5 seconds or the prompt appears. After a minute without it, the function cancels.

Is PSH the same as PUSH?

Yes. PSH is the short form on displays with fewer characters. The meaning is identical: press Start to begin. If pressing Start does nothing, reset power and call us if it continues.

Will you repair an older range with a dead Start pad?

Yes. Older Whirlpool ranges remain in many Houston homes. We quote in writing first, give a 30-day workmanship warranty, and say plainly if a repair is not worth the cost.
