What F1-H means
Gas and electric Whirlpool ranges, freestanding or slide-in, can show F1-H, the WFE515S0ES and WFG525S0HV among them. The guidance is a power reset, and the areas it names are the oven temperature sensor, the control and the wiring. In simple terms, the oven is not receiving or handling its temperature signal properly. The code stays on the display, and the oven may not heat or may fail to hold the right temperature while it is shown.
Common causes of F1-H
- Oven temperature sensor
- Sensor wiring and connector
- Control receiving the temperature signal
1. Switch the oven off and wait for it to cool completely. 2. At the household panel, cut power to the range for sixty seconds. 3. Restore power. 4. Stay by the range for one minute and note whether F1-H returns. 5. Verify the oven with a short bake.
- F1-H returning after a reset means the temperature circuit still needs testing
- We measure the sensor and check the wiring before we suggest a part
- You will have the price in writing before any repair is started
Other Range codes
Is the H in F1-H the same as the H hot-surface reminder?
No. The H alone in the heat setting window means a hot cooktop. F1-H is an oven code with a dash, and it has its own guidance.
Can I bake while F1-H is displayed?
It is better not to, since the oven may not control its temperature properly. Reset once, and if the code returns, leave the oven off until we check it.
Is this common on newer ranges?
The guidance covers current Whirlpool ranges too, not only older ones. Whatever the age of your range, we test the circuit and give you a written price before any work begins.
Still seeing F1-H?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
