Whirlpool WFG505M0MB 30-Inch Freestanding Gas Range Repair

Most common issues on this model

Fit of the 30-inch body in its cabinet opening
Surface burner flame pattern
Oven igniter and gas valve timing
Oven door gasket and hinges

The Whirlpool WFG505M0MB is a 30-inch freestanding gas range. It is also sold as WFG505M0MB0, WFG505M0MS0 and WFG505M0MW0, which are close relatives with their own parts lists, so we confirm the label first.

A 30-inch range is the standard size for most Houston kitchens, which means it often replaces an earlier unit in an opening that was cut years ago. That has a practical side for service: the range must be level, snug against the wall gas fitting and secured by its anti-tip bracket. If a range rocks or leans, burner flames and oven baking suffer too.

Our first visit steps are leveling, burner flame, and an oven heat cycle with the igniter, the valve and the door seal in view. After that we explain what we found and quote the price in writing before any work. Repairs are backed by a 30-day workmanship warranty.

WFG505M0MBWFG505M0MB questions

My range rocks slightly on the floor. Does it affect cooking?

It can. A range that is not level makes pans slide and can change how the oven door closes. We check the legs, level the range and confirm the anti-tip bracket is in place.

One burner flame looks yellow and tall. Should I worry?

A yellow or lazy flame often means a blocked port or poor air mixing. We clean the burner, check the cap and orifice, and look at the connector before testing anything else.

Do I need to move the range for a repair?

For the oven parts and the gas connection, yes, and we take care to protect the floor and flexible connector. Many cooktop repairs, such as caps and switches, can be done where the range stands.
