The WMH78019HV is a Whirlpool over-the-range microwave with convection cooking, hood venting and several rack positions, in a black stainless finish. Having a convection mode means it has a heating element and fan that a plain microwave does not, so we read the full number on the label before ordering.

My convection mode does not get hot. What do you test?

We check the heating element, the thermal protector, the convection fan and the control. Convection runs on a separate path from the microwave, so a unit can heat food in one mode and not the other.

Can the rack cause sparks?

Yes. A metal rack touching the cavity wall, or used in the wrong position for microwave mode, can arc. We inspect the cavity for burn marks and tell you which rack positions suit each mode.

Is a convection microwave harder to fix than a basic one?

It has more parts to test, such as the element and fan, so the diagnosis takes longer. We separate the modes, find the failing part and quote it in writing.
