Water Softener & Filtration Repair in Houston
Whirlpool water softeners and filtration systems can stop regenerating, leave hard water, run salt out too fast or leak. We repair the equipment; new plumbing connections go to a licensed plumber.
Common water softener & filtration problems we fix
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
Water feels hard again after a recent softening
Salt tank stays full but the water is hard
Brine tank overflows or leaks
Controller shows a code or stays blank
Low water pressure after the system
Constant drain noise or running water
Whirlpool water softeners and whole-house or under-sink filters treat the water for hardness, taste and sediment. A softener has a resin tank, a brine tank, a control valve and a drain line; a filter has a cartridge housing and, in some designs, a pressure gauge or a sensor.
Hard water is a fact of life across much of the Houston area, and well water in the outer counties can carry iron and sediment that clog valves and resin. Salt bridges, scale in the control valve and a worn controller are the most common reasons a softener stops working, and a power outage can reset the regeneration schedule.
We check the salt and brine, the valve, the injector, the controller and the drain line, then test the water. Plumbing changes and gas or water heater work are for a licensed plumber, and we say so up front.

Why is my softener not softening the water?
The salt may have formed a bridge, the resin may be worn, the valve may fail to regenerate or the controller may be off. We check the salt and brine first, then the valve and the control. A water test confirms whether the fix worked.
How often should I add salt?
Check the brine tank every month and keep it at least a quarter full. Use the salt type the manual calls for, and break up any crust. Salt use rises with water hardness and household size, so there is no single schedule.
Do you install new softeners or plumbing?
We repair the softener and filtration equipment itself. New water or drain lines, bypass valves and plumbing changes that require a licensed plumber are done by one. We tell you which part of a job is ours before we book.
